Rexford winter rules to know
Rexford follows Town of Clifton Park rules, which are driven by the weather. Here's what to know:
No road parking during a storm and for 48 hours after
Town Code §194-5E bans parking or leaving a vehicle unattended on the pavement or shoulder of any town road during snowfall, sleet, freezing rain or other winter weather, and for 48 hours after it ends. Fines run up to $100, $200 and $300 for repeat offenses (§194-6).

Mailbox winter checklist
The highway department asks for a solid post, a box 41 to 45 inches above the road surface, at least 6 inches back from the curb, and a reflector. As the town puts it, the snow coming off a plow is often heavy enough to topple a mailbox.
Plow-damaged mailboxes
If a town plow damages your mailbox, call the highway department at (518) 371-7310. Crews repair or replace mailboxes damaged by town equipment, using a pressure-treated 4x4 post and a black or white USPS-approved box for full replacements.
No snow in the road
State law (VTL §1219) prohibits throwing or depositing snow on any highway. A first offense can bring a fine of up to $150. Our snowblowers throw snow onto your property instead.
